Cookware and Knives: Tennessee's Own Hammer Stahl

Hammer Stahl, Tennessee’s own “American Clad”.

Tennessee has its own high-quality cookware and cutlery manufacturer, Hammer Stahl. A small, family owned company; Hammer Stahl manufactures all of their cookware in Clarksville, TN using steel sourced from Pennsylvania. They’ve been producing multi-clad stainless-steel cookware for more than 40 years. The 7-ply stainless steel is Hammer Stahl’s standard and includes 3 layers of aluminum to ensure an even temperature throughout without sacrificing durability. Hammer Stahl’s pans are induction-ready and protect the 400 series magnetic steel by sandwiching it between other layers of metal rather than putting it on the exterior of the pan. They use a titanium-stabilized 316Ti stainless steel cooking surface to provide the most durable, clean, and inert cooking surface. The 316Ti surface resists corrosion, pitting, to producing food with a clean, authentic flavor. All this advanced technology perfectly fits in your hand with a custom handle designed to stay cool and shaped for a comfortable fit. Hammer Stahl recently partnered with Andrew Zimmern to continue perfecting their cookware line.

The knives created at Hammer Stahl use top-quality, high-carbon, German stainless steel. They are forged and tempered to precise specifications and have a Rockwell hardness between 55 and 57 that provide a superior edge and lasting durability. The blades are sharpened to a 20° beveled angle, for that world class cutting edge. The balance of the knife is created by using a sloped bolster, quad-tang design with the handle’s steel exposed on all four sides and then wrapped in PakkaWood for comfort and durability.
